Bentley and Audi Prepare a New Machine

Bentley and Audi is rumored to work on the new V8 engine development. The machine is scheduled to be present in the variant of the Continental GT facelift, immediately in the autumn of 2011.

V8 engine with a capacity of 4000 cc will have and will aim at a high level of efficiency.

Energy resources are also planned to reduce CO2 emissions around 40 percent, to more environmentally friendly compared with the W12 engine used by the Continental GT.

6.0-liter W12 engine that is currently a total of 567 hp and a torque of 700 Nm. This machine is able to remove the car from 0 to 60 km in 4.4 seconds and a top speed can reach up to 198 mph.

Bentley will use the new machine, to transmit the generated energy to the propulsion drive all-wheel drive with a composition of 40:60 for the front and rear.

"We adapt to our purposes, thus providing unique Bentley driving," said Bentley Chassis and Powertrain Director Brian Gush, as quoted by Topspeed on Saturday (10/09/2010).

The two companies have not disclosed when the machine that will come will use a turbo or not. However, it is stated that the machine used an unconventional layout.
